Meet Lorenzo and Luiz Antônio, the people bringing initiative, care and technology to Águas Pantaneiras.
IDEA AND INITIATIVE
Lorenzo Grunwald Guizardi
Lorenzo grew up in the city, but it was on his grandparents’ farm that he learned the value of sharing. At Christmas and on Children’s Day, their example showed him that solidarity is an act of love.
In the riverside communities of the Pantanal, he saw families without access to drinking water, even in a region surrounded by water. At 14, he had the idea of adapting the filters created by his grandfather for the farm and bringing this accessible solution to Cuiabá Mirim.
What began with toy donations grew into a lasting commitment: filters designed to reduce iron and manganese in the water, bringing greater dignity to families. Together with Luiz Antônio and the project’s partners, Lorenzo continues working to expand the initiative.
DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY
Luiz Antônio Scheffer
Luiz Antônio Scheffer joined Águas Pantaneiras at 15 and has been actively involved in every stage of the initiative since then.
He helped structure the project, organise activities, raise funds and build relationships with partners. His work on the project’s processes helped turn the idea into an organised initiative with the potential to reach more communities.
During his final year of high school, he also developed an automated system to monitor and control the water supply, bringing technology, efficiency and greater operational safety to the system.
Together with Lorenzo, Luiz combines organisation, technology and a commitment to accessible solutions for Pantanal communities.
